The Data Rescue Tracker Grew Overnight

Are you looking for a specific dataset? Are you curious if someone somewhere has rescued it? You aren't alone! We created the Data Rescue Project (DRP) as a way to encourage communication across the many groups interested in rescuing data, from small-scale rescue events to larger institutional or organizational efforts. Over the past month, we have had some challenges figuring out who was working on which datasets and where to put the best effort. We created the Data Rescue Tracker to help with this problem.
As of this weekend, the Tracker has doubled in number thanks to the staff of ICPSR and members of EDGI and PEDP. If you are interested in a particular survey, you can Sort the list alphabetically by the Dataset field or use the Search box. You can also see where to download the data (if currently available) in the Download location field. You can see the list of Maintainers as well.

You are welcome to add metadata for your rescued data to the tracker using our Submission form. If you have hosted a data rescue event, please let us know where you have placed your rescued data. We have more planned for the Tracker, including a Nominations Form to gather suggestions for rescues. This is an amazing achievement for less than a month of work and is a testament to the commitment of the DRP volunteers. Please be patient, though, as we are still improving it.
We are very excited about this collaborative effort and want to make it as useful as possible for the community. We know how vital these datasets are for you! If you want to tell us how you are using public data, please submit your story!
